Homeschoolers

Magdalen College provides an atmosphere that is conducive to continuing the work which parents began with homeschooling. Over 50% of the College‘s students have been homeschooled before continuing their education at Magdalen College. With a student to teacher ratio of 8:1, and an average class size of 20 students, experienced tutors conduct the tutorials in the method of Socratic dialogue, offering individual attention to each student in a small community setting. Students who have been homeschooled thrive in Magdalen College‘s common life. Each year they rank among the top five students in each graduating class.

We would like to encourage any students of homeschooling who are considering application to Magdalen College to call the Admissions Office to discuss their current curriculum and transition to the College.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does a homeschooling curriculum prepare students for the Program of Studies at Magdalen College?
